Beyond

The Gates of Time

Just above the pillars and their entire view-port, another type of view-port appeared. It was almost identical in size to the full view-port below; however, no pillars were visible in this upper section. A spiral galaxy appeared in glorious splendor on a huge scale, with many more distant galaxies visible around it.

New wonder awoke in Helios as he observed this. Though Helios himself had traveled many millennia through deep space, he never ceased to be amazed at the sheer beauty and vastness of God’s great creation.

He was thrilled to discover that the incredible experience he had had just before arriving at these halls had not diluted his wonder or appreciation of God’s creative force. On the contrary, every sense and every emotion he experienced had such intensity and vitality that his life before the end of his star seemed but a shadow in comparison.

In all his journeys, Helios had only beheld a small portion of one tiny fragment of God’s mighty work. What he saw before him now sent countless rushes of life cascading anew through his spirit. So much of what Helios observed he had never even imagined existed.
