“You will begin to notice star patterns which represent a certain place at a unique point in time. This will help you differentiate between places that may look similar through the gate itself, but might be at an entirely different location in space or time. The exact center of each pillar is the exact point in time and space that you view between the pillars. However, the scale is such that for a more detailed view it is helpful to use the overhead view-port, which often contains the current star field on a greater scale.” Helios continued to patiently absorb every word Gabriel said. He was excited to start exploring these gates as soon as possible, but realized that a proper, basic understanding of certain key points concerning the operation of this place would enhance his experience greatly. So Helios just smiled at Gabriel during a brief pause in his dissertation and said, “Please continue.” Gabriel
laughed and said, “Your patience will pay off. I will soon be through
with my basic technical observations and we will adventure to the far
reaches of the galaxies.”
