Even wonderfully fulfilled spirits still learn and have a sense of curiosity, so Helios went to examine another set of the pillars, down the hall to his left. He noted as he moved that these gates seemed to have a very symmetrical relationship, both within themselves and to one another. The distance from any pillar to the closest pillar of another gateway appeared to be about twice the width of the gateway. The gateways seemed to be square, at least at the moment. This ratio was more obvious when looking at sets of pillars across the way, which were more distant, but similarly spaced. The set of pillars he now approached appeared almost identical at first. However, when he touched the pillar nearest him the tiny stars within seemed to resonate to his touch, and suddenly a scene was visible between the pillars, which was entirely different! For between these two pillars Helios beheld an incredibly pristine and beautiful redwood forest. He
was just about to step through the pillars to the forest floor, when
he sensed the presence of another being that had suddenly appeared
behind him, and he turned to face it. Helios had a powerful sense
for such things.
